This last week as been a true test of my endurance in this challenge.
Sunday was a whirlwind of Mother's Day activities, including a dance recital and visiting my sick Grandmom.
Monday, my partner in crime (and hubby) departed for a business trip leaving me to juggle the house and kids alone.
On Tuesday, as I was running out the door to take my daughter to ballet, I received a call informing me that I needed to move my Grandmom into a new apartment by Thursday.
Wednesday was full of planning and organizing...and my son coming down with a cold. Thankfully, my hubby was able to escape his business trip a day early.
Thursday, oh Thursday! My daughter followed in her brother's footsteps and spent the day feeling awful. All while I was consumed by the task of packing and moving my Grandmom for 11 hours.
By Friday, I was ready to call it quits! However, I pressed on to get my daughter to her dress rehearsal and out for a treat afterward.
Saturday was recital day!!! I had 2 kids with full blown colds, but my daughter, who shares my determination, was not going to let a runny nose keep her from performing on that stage. She pressed through and was AMAZING! However, in my enthusiasm to congratulate her in a job well done, I tripped and fell bruising my collar bone, immobilizing me for 2 days. In turn, my kids were also down for the count as their colds caught up with them in full force.
Sunday was spent doing ABSOLOUTELY NOTHING!!!
In all of this I could have easily said, "I don't have time to eat healthy." or "I don't have time to exercise.". Those would have been very true statements. I did not have the time...I MADE TIME!
I improvised! I drank 2 Essante pH 7.365 shakes most days because they were fast and easy. When I was home, I ate huge salads, tossing everything I could find...beans, quinoa, hummus, etc. What's easier than an entire meal in a bowl?
Did I make an occasional poor choice? Sure I did, but that simply increased my motivation to do better.
As for exercise, it was here and there. However, I DID complete 30+ minutes every single day...until I injured my shoulder on Saturday.
Alkalizing with Essante Super Reds and Earth Greens were ESSENTIAL in keeping my energy up and my body healthy. I can't even begin to imagine how last week might have played out had I ended up with the cold my kids are still fighting!
How have YOU had to demonstrate endurance in order to reach your goals?
